Belgrade to Host the World’s Largest Technology Fair - Gitex Global - within Expo 2027
The world’s largest technology fair, Gitex Global, has selected Belgrade as the host of its first event in Southeast Europe, which will be held under the title “Gitex AI Serbia” in 2027, as part of the Specialised Exhibition Expo 2027.
The organisation of “Gitex AI Serbia” marks a historic moment for Serbia and the entire Southeast European region, opening doors to international partnerships and showcasing regional technological potential on the global stage. During Expo 2027, Belgrade and Serbia will welcome more than four million visitors, transforming the capital into a global hub of innovation, exchange of ideas and the latest trends. At the same time, thanks to “Gitex AI Serbia”, our country will become one of the key meeting points for leaders in artificial intelligence, digital transformation and start-up innovation. Thus, in 2027, Belgrade will take its place on the map of the world’s most important events - as a place where technology, vision and the future converge.
“These are important news for Serbia and Belgrade and a clear indicator of how Expo 2027 Belgrade can help us continue to attract major global events to our city in the future. The arrival of Gitex Global represents a turning point not only for our technological scene, but for the entire regional economy. It is a signal that Serbia is becoming part of the key currents of global digital transformation,” said Danilo Jerinić, Director of Expo 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade.
The decision to select Belgrade as the host of the first Gitex fair in Southeast Europe was made at the 45th edition of Gitex Global in Dubai, which brings together more than 1,000 exhibitors and 200,000 visitors, confirming Serbia’s position as an increasingly important centre of innovation and technology. “Gitex AI Serbia” will open the doors to international partnerships and present the region’s technological potential on the global stage, attracting world leaders in artificial intelligence, digital transformation and start-up innovations.
“We will have the opportunity to further encourage the development of our IT sector, to enable our companies to secure new deals, create jobs and continue along the path of technological innovation,” added Jerinić.
